Ridiculous, But I Love It

I have a small obsession with pajamas.  How ridiculously cute are these feet?!

NAT-SOO-PAH

I have such fond memories of coming here as a kid.  The water is warm and it was the perfect place to bring Joshua for his first swimming experience.  Unfortunately, I was in the water with him and didn't get a single picture of him.  Trust me, he loved it.
Joey lounging on his mat
This was Joey's favorite part of the day.  He and Tyler spent the entire day on the slide.
It only took him a couple of times without it before he decided he needed the slide mat to give him some speed.
Here's Grandma Bee and Andrew
Uncle Josh and Colton
Grandpa Tom and Andrew
Me and Joey
This is the closest thing we had to a group shot, so sad.

Our Most Favorite Car Wash Ever

It starts with a long tube that you blast through.  Mildly entertaining.
Here's where the real fun begins.  There are vacuum hoses on both sides of the vehicle and we were all able to have our own.
The boys started out helping vacuum, but it very quickly turned into putting the suction on themselves and then each other.  Then they ganged up and it became all about getting Mom.  That's a serious face!
Ah, here comes the other one!
We laughed harder vacuuming the car than we have in a long time.

Dierkes Lake

We spent a gorgeous day at Dierkes Lake with "Aunt" Jodi.  For those of you not familiar with Dierkes, it is an oxbow lake off of the Snake River.  It is fun to go swimming down in the canyon, but the water definitely takes your breath away.  Brrrrr!
Jodi was a trooper and took the boys out in the big pool.
Here she is doing a little bonding with Andrew.  They played "find the rock" for a very long time.  Throw the rock, find the rock, throw the rock, find the rock, throw the rock...you get the idea.
Joey picked these girls up at the playground.  He always makes friends with the ladies.
Joshua was content to hang out on the blanket and try to eat grass.
We were watching the big boys swim with Jodi.
This was Joey's favorite part.  There were a bunch of fish (about 5 inches long) that a group of boys were trying to catch. I don't know how, but he talked someone out of their net.
Did I mention this is the Snake River?  Ya know, brrrrr.
I love days like this.

1st Wiggler!

Joey has his first wiggly tooth and it's replacement is bulging behind it.  I was a little worried about how he would react when this day came, but he is excited and showing everyone.
Andrew wanted to show off his teeth too.

Joshua At Five Months

He likes to suck his thumb or whatever fingers he is able to stick in there and he really likes to suck his thumb through his blanket
He is beginning to talk to us using high pitched squeals
He loves his brothers and smiles whenever they talk to him
He has a few rough moments here and there,
but he is mostly a happy boy
Joey and Andrew are very sweet to him
He still isn't sleeping through the night
He laughs when you kiss his neck and he smiles with his whole body
His eyelashes are beautiful, just like his big brothers
He likes to grab my hair, glasses, face, and really anything that gets close to him
He is rolling over now and can move quite a few feet at a time
He has just started eating baby food and isn't quite sure if he likes it yet
He has lost almost all of his hair and is left with downy soft fuzz
He really is such a sweet soul.  He has only been here for five months, but it truly feels like he has been with us forever.   I cannot image our family without him.  Thank you, God for baby Joshua!

Brush Fire

The is just down from my house and that is the fire coming up from the canyon.

Here's the view from the bridge.  We got to watch the helicopter scooping water from the river and then dumping it on the fire.  What an adventure for my boys.

Darn Wasp

It may not look like much in the picture, but the little red dot on Joey's chin is where a mean wasp attacked him. It had nothing to do with him inspecting the wasp nest on the side of the house, I promise. (Sure wish I would have seen it before he did.) His scream was the highest pitched scream I have ever heard.  Seriously.  He also kept saying, "I SHOULDN'T HAVE TOUCHED THAT!" over and over again. He wouldn't even go outside for two days, poor kid.

The Dog Trap

This is how Joey entertained himself at Papa's.  He made a trap for their dog.  He dug a big hole and then put a sign next to it that said "Dog Here" with an arrow.  ( He didn't really write it, but that's what he told me it said.)

This is a clip of our conversation over lunch.

Joey, "Is watermelon good for your body?"
Me, "Yes, really good"
Joey, "Is is the fruit of the spirit?"

Love it! Symbolism can be a tough concept for a five year old.

Joey's First Sleepover

We really wanted Joey to have a sleepover with Ty before we left Charleston.  They played, watched a movie, stayed up entirely too late, had a pillow fight, and eventually got fussed at for not settling down.  I think we completed all of the sleepover requirements.
