Homecoming Pictures

Joe has been home two weeks now, but I just got these pictures tonight and had to share them.  A sweet friend from church, Mary Lewis, came and took pictures for us.  She did a great job and I am so pleased to be able to have these memories to keep.

Initiating Daddy

Daddy finally made it home from his deployment and the boys decided to team up and initiate him back into the family.  He was trying to relax on the couch and they picked on him like crazy.  No rest for the weary!
The homecoming was wonderful and we are so happy to have Daddy home.  Mary Lewis was so sweet and came down to take pictures for us, so I should have some to share soon.

Joey's Flowers

I decided that our flowerbed needed some color, so I took the boys to Lowe's to see what we could find. I let Joey pick out whatever flowers he wanted, knowing he would choose something red. He did not disappoint me.

When we got home Joey was asking about making them grow bigger. I told him that they needed love to grow. We went inside to put our things away and he started drawing on a paper. He then took it outside and set it on the plants. When I asked him about it he said that he wrote the flowers a note to show them love so that they would grow. What a cute way to show his love!

What I Could Have Learned

I was supposed to learn the one discipline secret that every mom needs. Now I will never know it. I would have learned how to get the boys to pick up their toys, sounds nice. I would have LOVED to have learned how to finally have a better bedtime (in just five minutes!!!). I may never know if my carseat is safe, what will I do?! I may be destined to always be fat since I no longer have the secret to losing baby weight without dieting, sorry Joe.

Blame it on the United States Postal Service. Parent's Magazine was finally going to teach me all of these things, but the USPS only delivered the front page of my magazine and an apology for ruining it. Now I will not be the perfect mom that I know I could have been if I had only been able to read it. I know they said that they care, but how do I explain that to my children? This was an error that they will have to live with FOREVER!

I am embarrassed to say that this was Andrew’s first time at the beach.  Joe just isn’t a beach goer.   Grandma Bee is, so off we went.  Andy didn’t even want to step in the sand when we first got there, but he finally gave in (not by his own choice).  He only touched the water because it bubbled and he loves bubbles.  He got comfortable and then loved it.

Joey loved every minute of it.

Blogging Marathon

I have my computer up and running (thank you big brother) and I have been working all day to catch up on my blog posts. I have not had access to my pictures for a couple of months, so I had lots to put on here. I am posting them all at once so that I can hopefully keep them in order. Hope all of the pictures aren't too terribly overwhelming.

Andy Is Potty Trained!!!

Not really, but that would be exciting. He has been showing lots of interest in trying to potty in the toilet lately. He wants to sit on it, but has never been able to make anything happen. Tonight that all changed. I asked the dog if she wanted to go potty and when Andrew heard that he said, "Mommy, help me" while he pulled at his clothes. He kept saying "potty" so I figured I would let him try. Well, he did it. He went pee pee in the toilet! Then a little bit later he did the same thing again with his clothes and asking me to take him. He then went poop in the toilet!!! I know this is a lot of toilet talk, but the first use of the toilet is pretty exciting for a mom. Joey took two full years more than this to do the same thing, so I am still surprised. It is definitely a great start.

Again!

Joey has really made positive changes in the last couple of months and it is showing up in his school performance. He got the Awesome Award again!

Big Boy Bed, Here We Come

Andrew figured out how to climb out of his crib, so I decided to switch him to the race car toddler bed. While I was setting it up, Joey came in and was very upset that I wasn't putting it in his room. I had told him that Andy would share a room with him when he got bigger and Joey wanted that to be now. I was nervous about putting my very good sleeper in the same room with Joey, but I gave in and now my boys share a room. It has been five days and I am still amazed at how well Andy stays in his bed. He might peek his head out a few times, but goes back to bed easily. What a difference from Joey.

Park Day With Grandma

We headed to Wannamaker with the bikes and took the loop a couple of times. The weather was perfect and it is so peaceful back there.

We hit the park in between loops to let the boys play too.

What's a day at the park without a stop for ice cream?!
